The bus is now aboard the ferry that will take us to Nynäshamn and Stockholm. We had to shift the booking around a bit since they didn’t accept euro so three of us are now looking forward to 18 hours on the party boat with nowhere to sleep.

Crisis managment from Sweden solved the situation in the station. Now a bigger obstacle approaches - Gdansk. Some magical economics and we’ll be fine. The acres and fields are getting greener now. That must mean something.

A big thanks goes out to our hosts in Warszawa! Such great hospitality, generousity and friendship. Soup was fantastic as well - and vegan!

Stuck in a gas station. They don’t accept euros which we for some reason have tons on. The de-magnetized credit card doesn’t really help either. Chip with card? No, sorry.

We’re getting closer to the house in Warszawa now. Today we have been travelling through a snowy landscape in a winter Poland we discovered didn’t accept euros. We passed the Czech Republic this morning with border stations unmanned. It has been a very quite day where sleep on different levels has been explored.

Borders in Eastern Europe. Here dwells the old authority. The middle of nowhere, far from prying eyes. Absolute power in all its absurdity.

A border guard asked for a passenger list.
- A passenger list!? We are only five people, we have our passports. This is a private bus.

Didn’t matter. He didn’t care. What to do? We write him a list of the passengers and handed it over.

- Are you ridicouling me!? You are laughing behind my back! I will have your bus in custody for two weeks!

Johan went after him and tried to calm him down. He came back. Asked if we had stopped laughing now and asked or the same list again. Same story again. Private bus, five people, this is our passports.

Apart from the original five guards, two more has now arrived plus one cop and three people of unknown authority. They search every bag and every corner of the bus. You can tell they really want to find something and are certain they will.

After a while though they gave up. Angry border guard walked up again, looked at our insurance papers, the green card and asked - “Do you need this?” - showing the paper certifying that the bus is surveyed.

- Yes, sure, we said, and he took it and left saying that we could all “go back to sweden and smoke all your ciggarettes and marujana”. We asked for our passports, got them and got the hell out of there.

The certificate? We just printed a new one from the PDF.

The beer is more expensive than the menu reads, but good. Björn and Svante, the drivers, are back at the hostel while we chase a few bits of internet in some shady bingo hall. Tonight we’re sleeping in the bus. Right there next to the Danube river.

Tomorrow, photos will be uploaded. If we’re lucky, the Danube and S23K will be caught in the same frame.

Actually we’re not stopping in warszawa (Thank god! Heard the traffic is horrible), but just outside, in Podkowa Lesna. Our friend Kuba Szreder has promised parking, a villa and soup. Thank you so much, Kuba! The place is called InSitu Foundation Villa and I’m sure we will know more about it once we get there.
